Specimen Reception Guide

  • The sample's labeled ID must match the requested specimen ID.

    Since the reagents are intended for human use, there are some items for which chemistry result values may not be obtained properly depending on the species being requested. Please take this into account.

    As a basic requirement, specimens must be free of clots and hemolysis. If a clot is present or an error occurs for various reasons, the volume may become insufficient due to removal and re-testing, so it is best to provide as much as possible.

    For specimens requested before 10:00 and received before 16:00, same-day test result lookup is provided by default. In cases of absence due to leave, training, etc., a notice will be posted in the CRIS memo window, so please refer to it when submitting a request.

    If CRP, MG, or Amylase tests are to be performed in large quantities, you must notify us in advance.

    For the test items CK-MB (high-cost reagent), µALB (high-cost reagent), Lipase (high-cost reagent), and HbA1c (high-cost reagent), the test reagents may not be prepared due to reagent expiration date issues, so be sure to confirm the test items before requesting a test.

    • Example: The break-even points are 455 tests for Lipase, 77 for CK-MB, 105 for uALB, and 93 for HbA1c. Therefore, within at least 3 months, you must request at least 300 tests for Lipase, 60 for HbA1c, 50 for CK-MB, and 70 for microALB in order for us to purchase and run the reagents. For other small-volume requests, please refer them to another testing institution.

    Precautions before requesting a test: Results are not guaranteed for specimens that are not of biological origin. Strong acids or strong alkaline substances may cause equipment failure and therefore cannot be processed, so please take this into account in your experiments.
