연구 소개 · Brief Summary
내분비대사질환, 특히 당뇨병 및 동맥경화·심혈관질환을 중심으로 질환의 발생 기전, 위험인자 및 예후를 규명하기 위한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 국민건강보험자료를 비롯한 의료빅데이터와 리얼월드데이터를 활용한 임상역학 연구를 기반으로 질병 발생 양상, 치료 효과 및 장기 임상결과를 분석하고 있으며, 바이오마커를 이용한 위험도 평가와 환자 맞춤형 진단 및 치료 전략 개발에도 관심을 두고 있다. 또한 당뇨병 환자의 심혈관 합병증 예방과 예후 개선을 위한 근거를 마련하고, 실제 진료환경에서의 근거 창출을 통해 정밀의료 구현과 근거중심 임상의학 발전에 기여하는 연구를 수행하고 있다.
Research focuses on endocrine and metabolic diseases, particularly diabetes mellitus and atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases, with an emphasis on elucidating disease mechanisms, identifying risk factors, and improving clinical outcomes. Clinical epidemiology studies are conducted using healthcare big data and real-world data, including the Korean National Health Insurance database, to evaluate disease burden, treatment effectiveness, and long-term outcomes in routine clinical practice. Current research also explores the use of biomarkers for risk stratification and the development of personalized diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Through evidence generation from real-world clinical settings, this research aims to advance precision medicine and evidence-based clinical practice while improving the prevention and management of cardiovascular complications in patients with diabetes.
